    Retail investors drive liquidity and share price.

    Most public companies only focus on engaging their top shareholders - the relatively small portion of investors (5% of less of registry) that own disproportionate amounts of stock. For the past few decades, that approach has worked because it's an economically feasible way of influencing large amounts of available stock through a few investor relationships.
