A common pitfall in major newsflow is that the company assumes that the significance of the newsflow will ensure that the market sees it, engages with it, and invests off the back off it. However, as most companies have experienced, significant news can result in flat or negative responses from the market. Why is this?

Two core principles of Direct-to-Investor (D2I) Marketing are (1) that results don't speak for themselves and (2) frequent communication is key to driving market belief. The first principle explains why significant news can fall flat, whilst the second provides guidance on how to overcome it.

Hubinars offer a simple-yet-effective way to uphold these principles and give your major news the best chance of reaching more investors and driving more buys from existing or new investors.

How they work.
First, companies release an announcement or update to the market with the major news. Crucially, they direct companies to their interactive investor hub as an invitation to ask questions via the Q&A system. These are the questions that will be answered during the webinar. This first step achieves two things: (1) it establishes the interactive investor hub as the source of truth for the market (as opposed to unaffiliated third parties) and (2) it increases traffic and hub signups, allowing public companies to communicate more efficiently with existing and prospective investors.

Second, companies collect the questions and schedule a webinar to answer them. The webinar can be live or pre-recorded, depending on the company's preference (most pre-record). This is a highly efficient process, allowing companies to talk through their investor presentation without the financial or human resource requirements of a third party webinar service or conference.

Third, companies then redistribute their Hubinar as an update via their interactive investor hub and as an email via their communications hub. This allows companies to broadcast their investor questions and answers asynchronously, thus increasing the reach of their announcement.

Companies can monitor the impact of their Hubinar throughout the process using the intelligence hub features. Not only can you see the reach or engagement statistics, but also how your Hubinar influenced on-market behaviour.
